Owner of Cycle Barn Studio
People should love what they do each day when they walk through their door to their job-either you went to college to be in the profession you are in, or you just make a pretty decent amount of money that you just push through it- that is what I did! I would go to work each day and of course embrace each day to the fullest, but I knew I wasn't happy! Working with children for as long as I did, I thought the next thing was to receive my masters degree in education. So, that is exactly what I did, I followed what I thought was "what I was suppose to do". Again, I was constantly reminding myself how much I needed to just push through- and then one day, I just woke up and said, "This isn't for me, I need more out of life and I need to feel fulfilled". I took the biggest gamble and walked away from everything else and put the studio ahead of it all. It was the best decision I have made. There have been some hurdles that I have had to overcome (the pandemic), but here I am, able to say how much I LOVE MY JOB!
With teaching spin for over 5 years I bring a different style to each and every class, from soul cycle, to fly wheel to the basics of stationary riding. I’ve had a passion for fitness since I began my journey in teaching several years ago. Watching members transform right in front of me, has inspired me to continue to do what I love to do. I am excited to bring my passion to the studio and hope that the members enjoy the journey as much as I do! Together I hope that we are able to reach the sky and grow as a team who are all eager to reach their fitness goals!
McKenzie started her journey at the studio as a member, she would come twice a day to get her spinning sessions in. She was completely committed and devoted, if she missed a ride she would come in and tell me how badly she needed to work to make up for the day she missed. Seeing this devotion, I approached her and asked if she would be interested in teaching classes of her own. The classes I had open for her to teach were early AM classes, it took some time to convince her that waking up at 5:00 AM to make a 6:00 AM class would be "fun", but she decided it would be a wonderful fit and is now one of my early riser instructors here at the studio. She has a the best personality and will be sure to crush your workout, be sure to catch her on the bike for one of her rides.
Mckenzie graduated from Salve Regina College with a BS in marketing and a MBA in business administration
She is certified through MADD Dog
Well, where should I start with my good friend Jessica?! Jessica use to take my classes at another gym for years, and well, I approached her, told her I was opening my own place and that she should get certified- within 24 hours she was spin certified and teaching all of my 5:00 AM rides! Believe it or not, Jessica "wanted", the 5:00 AM rides, she said that was one of the deals of getting certified, was that she would do the early classes. She works full-time as an X-Ray technologist as well as per-diem at one of the hospitals in Providence. She takes it all on and does such a great job doing it all!
Jessica went to Rhode Island College and holds a bachelors of science in Radiologic Technology-
Jessica is certified through MADD Dog as well as CPR certified.
Not only is Stephanie the owners sister, but decided to get certified to help her along her journey and new venture. Stephanie works full-time as a para-professional at an elementary school and has for over 16 years. She is married with two small children. Stephanie knew that getting certified was going to be a challenge as she was not much for working out, she wanted to give it a shot, and who knew she is now addicted.
She teaches every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday at 4:30 as well as Saturdays at 8:30 AM.
-Stephanie graduated from Rhode Island College with her degree in Science and Arts with concentration in Psychology.
-Stephanie is certified through MADD Dog with her spin certification as well as CPR certified.
Leslie started her journey at the studio in October of 2020- she brings so much energy to the team and knows just how to get everyone motivated! Below is a list of her certifications:
Leslie has been active her whole life starting at a young age and continuing straight through college as a cheerleader (17 yrs). She took Marathon in 2017. She is committed to helping others along their journey to a happy, healthy lifestyle. Her motto is, "You get one chance in life, live everyday with a grateful heart and the pursuit of your health and happiness".
Kayla has been taking cycling classes for some time now, she recently decided to get spin certified because of her passion in taking cycling classes. She recently just got married to Peter Koopman and is in the process of building her dream home with him.
Kayla holds her Bachelors and Masters degree in accounting both from Bentley University. She is a CPA and currently works as a consultant to public companies for RSM in Boston. She played tennis at Bentley (which is how she met her husband, he was on the men's team). Kayla LOVES to ski in the winter and play golf and go to the beach in the summer, and SPIN all YEAR round! She also has a little fur baby "Max"!
You can catch her on Mondays at 6:00 AM and subbing throughout the week for anyone who needs coverage!
BARRE Instructor/ SPIN Instructor
Allow me to introduce the studios' latest instructor to join the team! Kylie reached out to me when she heard I was looking to bring BARRE to the studio, she started teaching BARRE and then shortly with the help of some persuasion she then started her spin certification program and in March of 2021 received her certification.
Before Kylie discovered BARRE and spin, she played basketball her entire life. After graduating from BSU, Kylie found her "team" again and quickly fell in love with spin and BARRE and the environment of group fitness. She hopes all of her clients leave her classes feeling inspired and energized! Her playlists are filled with quick beats, remixes, and plenty of throwback jams.
Kylie graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelors in Math and Secondary Education. She is a High School Math teacher in her first year of teaching and holds her BARRE/Spin certifications.
Maddie has been an instructor of the studio for some time, she started out as a die-hard member and absolutely loved it! I of course had to get her to join my team, and once she did she brought the most energy and wonderful vibes! She now is teaching with a rotating schedule that differs from week to week. She recently graduated from UMASS Amherst with her BA in Mathematics and is currently enrolled in her Masters degree in math education at Boston University and will be moving to Boston in September- But rest assure she will be back on that bike when she is home and visiting. For now, we're all loving the classes she is covering and DO NOT want to see her go!
Maddie ultimately plans to work as a STEM educator in some capacity whether it be in a standard school setting or something more non-traditional. She is heavily involved in sports and fitness and has been since a young girl. When she discovered cycling it was an ultimate combo of her passion for music and movement.
Maddie says, "There's no better physical therapy than cycling! I love blasting the tunes, riding to the beat and sharing the camaraderie a fitness class offers. Meeting and learning about members is one of my favorite parts of instructing, and i want to show everyone that they are made of many layers and every-time you step into my class you're given the opportunity to unveil a layer you have no yet discovered".
So while you can, be sure to continue to follow the schedule and updates for when she will be on that bike!

Climbs/Hills-- A ride that includes several successive climbs/hills that will result in a sprint for recovery. The entire ride will not be based off of the listed class description but will have variety to offer recovery. Climbs/Hills will give you the strength and endurance to meet your fitness goals.
Sprints/Flats- The benefits of sprinting are endless. It's an excellent cardiovascular exercise, it increases your stamina, burns a lot of calories in a short time and moreover, it gives a boost to your metabolism so even when your workout is over, it keeps on burning calories. As with every ride, you make it your own.
Interval/HITT- High Intense Interval Training- this class offers intense anaerobic exercise with less recovery time to maximize your cardiovascular effort.
45 MIN Ride- Is a combination of all classes listed above.
BARRE- Barre class is a workout technique inspired by elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. It focuses on low-impact, high-intensity movements designed to strengthen your body in ways that few other workouts can.
3 LB & 5 LB weights are provided for each ride along with some resistant bands that are used for some of the rides.
